5.21.12

Ruffle Tank: DIY
Navy 'Denim' Pencil Skirt: LOFT
Blue Cardi: Target
Sandals: Target

I embraced yesterday's "cooler" temperatures (the high was only 74!) by wearing a cardigan. And I wore these giant stomping shoes because I had to go to the grocery store after work and I love torturing myself. I also like to go to the grocery store needing approximately 3489 things and try to use only the hand basket. I end up dropping everything in the cookie/cracker aisle and having to run to the other side of the store to get a cart. #firstworldproblems

5.11.12

Magenta Dress: Forever 21
Grey Cardi: Target
Lightening Bolt Necklace: O2 Designs
Metallic Shoes: Target
Metallic Clutch: Coach

A few weeks ago my friend ended up with an extra (free!) ticket to Memphis. We headed out for dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant first (my first time eating Vietnamese and NOT my last - SO GOOD!), then out to the show. It was the first time I've seen a show that I knew NOTHING about, but I really enjoyed it!

My necklace, unfortunately, hooked on something and snapped the chain in half - I've already got an email out to O2 designs to see if I can get a new chain.

I just really liked my outfit today (my neighborhood barista guy complimented me on it, which is a win in my book because he's got an AWESOME sense of style), so I figured I'd share it, iPhone style.

So guys.

I've been training for the upcoming Go! St. Louis half marathon (because I'm crazy). It's going generally okay...I think I'll be able to at least run/walk it without dying, which is a vast improvement from two months ago.

BUT.

Because of all of this athletic activity (and because my activity level during June of last year was zero), I've slimmed down quite a bit. Now, don't get all excited - I haven't lost a single pound (don't get me started on how frustrating this is). My body fat percentage, on the other hand, has decreased significantly (I'm down 10% from the beginning of January), and I've lost quite a few inches everywhere.

Which is great. My boyfriend even commented last night (um, maybe TMI), that my thighs looks less "wiggly and stuff" (he's so sweet).

EXCEPT none of my lovely clothes fit. Most dresses gape at my armpits, skirts fall down my hips, jeans are always falling off. It's really annoying. (I know, poor, poor Ashley). The skirt I'm wearing in the picture above? I tried it on last week (this outfit is from October 2011), and it literally fell off. I bought new jeans in one size smaller at Gap over the weekend and after wearing them once, they are saggy and fall off my hips. It's incredibly frustrating, and makes getting dressed in the morning a real pain. Basically shoes and tops are the only thing that still fit me, and that's incredibly frustrating. I feel like I'm waisting a bunch of money because I have bags of clothes now that just don't fit.

The practical side of me is saying I should hold on to them because they'll fit again eventually - but the vain side of me wants to get rid of them because I don't want to get that big again.

Ugh. What do you do once clothes are too small?

This is an outfit from a few months ago...back when I could have bare legs and not feel silly about it.

I like tights, I really do - I look forward to tights weather every year (maybe because that means it's boot weather?) - but sometimes I wish I was brave enough to wear bare legs in the winter. Even though it's in the 60s today, I still just can't do it - I feel like it's all wrong - like wearing a sweater in July.

Where do you fall on this issue?
